Wainfest will not go ahead this week

 WAINFEST, Donegal’s children’s art and book festival will not go ahead this week as planned in light of the tragedy in Creeslough.

This festival was due to run from October 8 to October 16 with events planned in various cultural venues across the county.

In a statement this evening a spokesperson for Donegal County Council said: “In light of the tragedy in Creeslough, the Wainfest Children’s Arts & Book Festival 2022 will not be proceeding this week. It is intended to reschedule the majority of the events in due course.

“Our deepest sympathies are extended to every person affected by the tragedy.”
