Vigil to be held for victims of Creeslough tragedy

A candlelight vigil will be held in East Donegal tomorrow evening in memory of those killed in the Creeslough explosion tragedy.

The event will take place in Castlefinn at 7pm on Sunday.

Councillor Gary Doherty said, “As the horrific news emerges of more deaths in Creeslough we are all feeling utterly helpless and devastated at this awful tragedy.

“I keep thinking about what we could be doing to help and I know everyone else is the same.

“The only thing I can think of is to hold a candlelight vigil in my home village of Castlefin to allow people to come together and remember the victims and their loved ones.

“If you would like to come along to The Diamond at 7pm tomorrow (Sunday) please do and bring a candle.

“There won’t be any speeches, just a chance for our community to come together and stand in solidarity with our neighbours in Creeslough.”
