VIDEOS have emerged on social media of some of the dangerous and illegal driving maoeuvers being carried out by drivers in Letterkenny over the weekend.

Inspector Michael Harrison said on what was one of the busiest weekends in years for the Donegal Traffic Corps a ‘large number’ of modified cars had been seized.

The inspector said, as well as this, road traffic offences were up from previous Donegal International Rally events, with five arrests for dangerous driving being made before 4pm in the Letterkenny area on Saturday alone.

Two of the videos show cars performing doughnuts at the busy juntion of High Road and Main Street, just outside Letterkenny Courthouse and Gallagher’s Hotel. It is the same spot where a doughnut manoeuvre was performed by a driver last year.
