INSPIRED by the Darkness into Light Donegal event which takes place this Saturday, May 10 and is in aid of Pieta House, secondary students have come together to perform a specially written music track and video.

The track was written and produced by Brighdín Carr and the students took to the recording studio on their bank holiday weekend to record and finalise the audio.
“We spoke with Pieta House and told them of our plans, they were very encouraging and it started from there We wanted to promote Pieta House in a very positive way,” she said.

Brighdín then enlisted the help of video producer Marty Curran from pmcmedias who came up with a concept and the video was shot over a number of evenings with the students again giving up their free time. “It all came together quite quickly and given the short timescale I think they have done a wonderful job,” he said.

“They have brought a positive and contemporary approach to what is for many, a sensitive subject. Sometimes many of us fail to realise how we impact on others and how important a role we play in the lives of family and friends.”

The students hope the video will help promote this weekend’s Darkness into Light event which takes place on May 10th around the country. Their aim is also to remind their peers that help is available from Pieta House. The video also aims to demonstrate the value of friendship and sharing problems.
