RORY Gallagher has released his latest song in tribute of a Donegal sports person.

Gallagher, of ‘Jimmy’s Winning Matches’ fame from Donegal’s All-Ireland winning year in 2012, has penned ‘Make Way for the Fighting Irish’ – a song that Jason Quigley is set to use as his walk-on music for his professional debut on Saturday-week in Las Vegas.

The 23-year-old Ballybofey boxer was snapped up recently by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions and will make his first pro appearance at the MGM Grand.

The Finn Valley man won the Irish and European titles last year and in October reached the final at the World Championships in Kazakhstan.

While on holiday in Lanzarote with his girlfriend, April McManus, Jason bumped into Rory at the Kilcar man’s The Island Bar and the pair came up with the idea, which they have now followed through.

The song is available to download on iTunes at a cost of just €0.99 and the money will be divided between Donegal Hospice, Animal Rescue and Forgotten Horses of Ireland.
