DONEGAL manager Jim McGuinness says that he can feel a ‘swell of interest in Gaelic football’ Donegal.

McGuinness was presented with the Ulster GAA Writers Monthly Merit Award for July last week in Letterkenny – and at the presentation, the Tir Chonaill boss noted the ‘buzz in Donegal.

“We are all hoping to be involved in September,” he said. “We were very disappointed last year not to get over the line and hopefully we can go one step further this time.

“There is a great buzz in the county and a great appetite for football, which is a great thing to savour.”

In this special video by Brendan O’Donnell of Jacksonsmediatv, McGuinness hails the commitment of his players – whom he said he was showing the award to as it had been won on their behalf.
