THE pedestrian who died following a road traffic accident in Buncrana has been named locally as Rebecca Browne.
Ms Browne, from the Galliagh area of Derry, was struck by a Garda Patrol car at around 3.15am on Sunday Morning.
The collision occurred near the entrance of Ludden beach on the outskirts on Buncrana town.
The Garda Ombudsman is investigating the fatal crash and no other persons were injured during the collision.
Her body has since been removed for a post mortem.
