Van fire brought traffic to a standstill

The main Letterkenny to Derry Road came to standstill yesterday evening as emergency services put out a blaze that had broken out in a van.

The road was closed for a time in both directions.

Gardaí have confirmed that a vehicle caught fire outside Magherbeg National School.

Emergency services were tasked to the scene shortly before 6pm.

Motorists travelling in either direction experienced significant delays as emergency services dealt with the incident.
