THE 33-years-old  woman who was killed in Ballyshannon in the early hours of this morning has been named as Sheena Stewart from Letterkenny.

Mother of three,  Ms Stewart, died after she was struck by a taxi-mini bus on Main Street at around 1.50am.

She worked as a volunteer at the Cara House charity in Letterkenny.

Gardai believe she may have tripped and fallen into the path of the oncoming taxi min-bus

Ms Stewart was a former pupil at Royal and Prior.

She had worked at Cara House for the past two years where she has been described as a valued volunteer and a good worker. She worked in the kitchen two mornings per week.

Susan McCauley, co-ordinator of Cara House said Sheena would be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
