HEAVY winds across Donegal have resulted in power outages in different parts of the county with hundreds of homes and businesses left without supply this morning.
Storm Floris hit the county overnight with a Status Yellow wind warning issued by Met Éireann which is valid until 4pm today.
A Status Yellow rain warning was also in place but ended at 10am.
Motorists have been advised of dangerous driving conditions with structural damage and debris on many routes.
ESB crews are working to repair a number of faults in different locations with almost 1,000 customers without power this morning.
Over 500 homes and businesses have been hit by an outage at the Cullion plant in Letterkenny.
There are two separate outages in Creeslough impacting almost 300 customers while there are faults in Inishowen (Ballymacarry and Newtowncunningham) and Ballyshannon too.
Meanwhile Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a significant burst to a water main supplying Bundoran, Ballyshannon, and surrounding areas this morning.
A burst on the trunk distribution main at Lough Melvin Water Treatment Plant is causing supply interruptions to customers in Bundoran, Ballyshannon and surrounding areas.
Crews are on site and repair works are underway. Repairs are due to be complete by 4pm this afternoon (Monday).
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
