Finn Harps’ season got off to a false start, as their game with Drogheda United was postponed tonight.
Harps had completed their warm-up, and both teams were lined up in the tunnel before kick-off when the game was called off by the referee, John McLaughlin.
He wasn’t happy with the quality of the floodlights, and did not allow the game to start.
Finn Harps supporters – who travelled in good numbers – booed when the announcement was made, and while they were offered refunds, one fan called the situation a ‘shambles’.
Horgan had included the O’Connor brothers Michael and Ciaran, former Celtic winger Paddy McCourt, Lee Toland, Mary Coyle and Sam Todd in his starting eleven.
