DONEGAL star Ciaran Moore said he was fortunate to be in the right spot to score the crucial second goal for Donegal on Saturday.
Moore was replaced in normal time but when the match went to extra-time, he was called upon again and his running power really came to the fore.
He got stuck into the contest once more and came up with a huge contribution when he fired the ball to the net in the 83rd minute after receiving a pass from Michael Langan.
“It was unreal,” Moore said.
“I was just lucky that it fell to me in the right spot.
“I’m just delighted that we were able to get over the line today.
“It was a massive, massive battle, and it’s just unbelievable.”
Moore could barely believe it as that goal chance opened up for him but it wasn’t a fluke either.
By all accounts, he’s one of the leading men at training when it comes to long runs and there have been plenty of those in Convoy since December.
He and his teammates have been coaxed and urged to give everything they have on the training field, and that stood to him when he found the energy to support Langan.
“I suppose it probably is down to coaching as well to get yourself in the right spot.
“I was the one today in the right spot to ship it off to me and I probably had the easiest job to just tap it in.”
