Uisce Éireann working to restore supply to customers in Croithlí and surrounding areas

UISCE Éireann crews are working to return water supply to customers in Croithlí, Anagaire, Loch an Iúir, Rann na Feirste and surrounding areas this afternoon.

Due a mechanical issue encountered at Croithlí Water Treatment Plant while essential maintenance works were being carried out earlier today, reservoir levels have fallen and this is impacting supply to homes and businesses on Na Rosa Regional Public Water Supply Scheme.

Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said work is ongoing to resolve the issue and restore normal supply as quickly as possible.

“We acknowledge the impact of an outage such as this and we assure impacted customers that we are doing all we can to bring supply back to normal levels as quickly as possible,” said Damien.

Repairs are due to be complete by 6pm this evening.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network as the system recharges.
