Uisce Éireann is urging customers in Letterkenny, especially in the elevated areas of Bomany, Newmills, Roughan, and Drumanaught, to conserve water as reservoir levels remain under pressure due to high demand.
This has led to intermittent water supply issues in certain regions.
“We are appealing to customers in the Letterkenny area to conserve water to give the reservoirs time to refill,” said Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann.
He also highlighted the importance of even small reductions in usage, which can collectively improve supply for all.
Damien added: “It’s important that we all consider our water usage and look at simple yet impactful ways to conserve water. It can sometimes be difficult to know where to start, but even small changes can make a significant difference.”
In addition to ongoing operations, the utility is asking residents to consider simple water-saving measures like shorter showers and fixing leaks.
For further tips and to check individual water usage, Uisce Éireann has provided a water conservation calculator at www.water.ie/calculator.
Customers can stay informed about local supply issues through Uisce Éireann’s text service or their 24/7 customer care line.
