Under 21 B Championship
Cloughaneely v Glenfin
Date: Saturday, November 29
Time: 2pm
Venue: Burn Road
This has the makings of a really good battle in Termon.
Glenfin reached the ‘A’ semi-finals when these teams played at minor level and they have a strong side.
Luke McGlynn, Shaun Ward, Jack Long and Odhran O’Connor are all regulars with their senior team.
Cloughaneely had to dig deep to see off Malin by a point last week in Connolly Park.
Donnachadh Ó Baoighill is their star man while they will also need big displays from Tiernan McGinty, Cathal McGeever, and Seamus Doogan.
Cloughaneely won the Under 21 ‘B’ title last year and they’d like to go back-to-back but Glenfin will fancy their chances.
Verdict: Glenfin.
Naomh Pádraig, Uisce Chaoin v Ardara
Date: Sunday, November 30
Venue: Lifford
Time: 1pm
Ardara produced an excellent performance to defeat Naomh Columba in their quarter-final last week.
The Pearse Memorial Park side have won the last two Division 2 Minor titles and they have a strong team.
Eoghan ‘Ban’ McNelis, Gavin Sweeney, Kyle McHugh, and Shane Sweeney are all good forwards.
However, they will be wary that a good Carn team were held to only six points by Naomh Pádraig last week.
Dougie Corbett and Daniel McCauley’s Muff recorded a super win without Donegal U20 player, Kevin Lynch.
Cormac McColgan, Cillian Doyle, Oisin McIntyre and county minor Peter McLaughlin will be central to Naomh Pádraig’s hopes.
However, if the Ardara forward line click they will be hard to beat.
Verdict: Ardara
Under 21 ‘C’ Championship
Kilcar v Killybegs
Date: Saturday, November 29
Time: 2pm
Venue: Towney
These local rivals have already met in the Under 21 Championship and Killybegs won by 1-8 to 0-9.
However, it was the Towney side who topped the group and advanced straight through to the last four.
Jack Hegarty, Ciaran O’Donnell, and Ben Rafferty are important players for Kilcar, while Liam McLaughlin and Michal Gallagher are highly-rated young players.
Killybegs came through a real arm wrestle with Letterkenny Gaels by 0-5 to 0-4 last week.
That should stand to them but they will need Gavin Doherty, Ethan Byrne, Eoin Mulligan and Josh Coyler on form.
It should be tight but Kilcar might just shade it at home.
Verdict: Kilcar
Downings v Red Hughs
Date: Saturday, November 29
Time: 2pm
Venue: Downings
Red Hughs will know if they are to win this match they will have to try and put the shackles on Paddy McElwee.
The former Donegal minor and Under 20 forward has been in sensational form for his team in recent weeks.
Paidin Shiels, Callum Cullen, and Ronan Pasoma provide a good supporting cast but there’s no doubt that McElwee is the leading man.
Red Hughs will be heartened by a terrific one-point triumph against a good Naomh Brid side in the quarter-final.
Liam Carlin, Conor Gallagher, James Doherty and Cathair Browne are all good players but they will need a huge performance at the back if they are to prevent the Mevagh men from reaching the final.
Verdict: Downings
