Donegal Mountain Rescue Team (DMRT) assisted two walkers who became disorientated while descending Muckish.

The rescue team received the call at 5.15pm on Friday.

“A hasty team made their way to the Grotto and the two walkers’ location was quickly established using Sarlock technology,” said a DMRT spokesperson.

“The hasty team located them, provided them with extra layers and guided them off the hill to their very anxious father. The team stood down at 21:00.

“The walkers did the right thing by calling the team as soon as they knew they were in difficulties, as they had no waterproofs or torches. This meant we could locate them and guide them down to safety quickly.“
