Two new special classes approved for Donegal schools

TWO new special classes have been sanctioned for Donegal for the upcoming school year.

The first class is at PCC Falcarragh and the second is at Scoil Naomh Chaitríona, Ballyshannon.

Donegal Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher welcomed the announcement from the minister for education.

He stressed the importance of these developments for both schools, noting that the additional provision will significantly strengthen local capacity to support students with additional needs.

“These new classes will provide vital places for families who have been seeking appropriate educational supports within their own communities.”

Deputy Gallagher also acknowledged that five of the newly sanctioned classes nationwide will be delivered through modular accommodation and welcomed the department’s commitment to ensuring that suitable facilities are provided without delay.

He reiterated his support for the Minister and the Department in continuing to expand special education provision and ensuring that every child has access to the supports they require.
