TWO men have been arrested in Derry following the serious assault of a young Lifford man earlier this week.
This comes after two men were seriously injured in a house in Lifford on Monday, January 20.
One man, aged in his 20s, named locally as Charles Dooher, was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for treatment of serious injuries.
A second man, in his 60s, was brought by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of less serious injuries.
Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Serious Crime Branch are assisting An Garda Síochána with the investigation into the serious assault.
The two men who were arrested are currently in police custody.
Meanwhile, gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
A garda spokesperson said: “Anybody who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) from the Coneyburrow Road, Lifford between 10am and 11am, is asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.”
