Two Donegal women nominated for Ulster All-Stars

Two Donegal women have been nominated for an Irish News Ulster All-Star Award.

Donegal captain Niamh McLaughlin and full back Abigail Temple Asokuh are both on the shortlist for the award.

Moville woman McLaughlin was once again an important player for John McNulty’s side, who avoided relegation in the semi-final stage as they defeated Kildare by one point in Breffni Park last month.

Donegal were beaten in extra-time in the Ulster final against Armagh and had a good draw with All-Ireland champions Kerry in the All-Ireland group stage in MacCumhaill Park, the home club of Temple Asokuh.

The 2024 Ulster All-Stars Black Tie Gala is taking place on Friday 27 September at the ICC, Belfast.
