Two Donegal clubs have issued statements calling for a vote of no confidence in two members of the Donegal County Board and have called for their resignation ahead of tonight’s county committee meeting.
Milford and Four Masters have both released statements on the matter, in which they are hoping the County Children’s Officer and County Coaching Officer will ‘consider their positions in the best interest of Donegal GAA’.
The statements come following the recent controversy in Donegal, with Karl Lacey stepping down as Head of the Academy which has raised questions for the past eight weeks, and with the recent news of Paddy Carr stepping down as manager of the county senior team just five months since his appointment.
Lacey, a former Four Masters player, is also being backed by his club side as they are again calling for his return as Head of the Academy.
Meanwhile, both clubs have questioned the initial appointment of Paddy Carr and Aidan O’Rourke, with the Milford club labelling the County Board’s selection process as ‘farcical’.
It is believed a motion of no confidence will be put to the floor at tonight’s county committee meeting regarding the two members of the Executive Committee in question.
