TV viewers around the country are eagerly awaiting the second episode of TV3’s new series Islanders following last week’s premiere.
Episode 1 received a fantastic online reaction, as you can tell from the tweets below, when viewers were introduced to the main on Whiddy Island, Inishturk and Arranmore.
Arranmore fisherman Neilie Kavanagh and his hearfelt account of survival on the island, as well as his young daughter Muireann praying to St Anthony, were particularly popular with viewers.
In episode 2, Shirley’s hopes have turned to despondency. Nobody has turned up to her fund-raising quiz night whilst she is hearing whispers of opposition to her plans to unite the island.
Neilie visits Dáil Éireann to speak in front of the Joint Oireachtas committee on Agriculture, Food & the Marine, hoping to reignite his campaign to reverse the salmon ban.
Episode 2 of Islanders airs Wednesday, April 22, at 9pm on TV3.
