Twenty-first Christmas toys appeal launched

A DONEGAL man is asking people across the county to donate towards a Christmas toy appeal to ensure as many children as possible will wake up to a gift this December 25.
Hundreds of children have benefited from Eunan Devenney’s annual appeal which is now in its 21st year.
A former professional boxer, he works as a maintenance man at St Joseph’s Hospital in Stranorlar.
“I’m just off the phone to the Social Workers and, unfortunately, it looks like there will be plenty of children in need of help once again this year.
“There’s always a need for the toys and we managed to help seventy-five boys and girlsa last year. It never ceases to amaze me the goodwill of people across Donegal.
“It could by your next door neighbour that needs a little helping hand this year. Each and every present that’s collected in Donegal stays in Donegal,” he said.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who donated toys last year and to let everyone know that we have started collecting toys for Christmas 2021. Toys can be dropped into St Joseph’s or I’ll gladly travel the length and breadth of the county to pick them up,” Mr Devenney said.
If you would like to donate a toy contact Eunan Devenney on 0877684073.
