By Rebecca Crockett

THE organisers from North West Truck Fest have spoken of their delight at raising €9,600 for Donegal Down Syndrome Association over the past two years of the event.

On Monday, the event organisers presented a cheque for €5,000 to Donegal Down Syndrome Association, the proceeds from the 2024 event.

The final figure of €9,600 represents the proceeds raised from the last two North West Truck Fests and events held in association with the festival.

Held at the end of August, this year’s programme included performances from local artists like Carragh Lynch, The Good Old Boys with Anne Biddie, and Paul Kelly and his band.

The festival also holds presentations for the best trucks in various categories every year. Awards include Best Working Truck, Best Vintage, Best Graphics, and more.

A new charity will be chosen for next year and the event will take place once again in August.
