THERE has been widespread sadness following the passing of a Letterkenny man who tragically died in a weather-related incident on Friday afternoon.
The man has been named locally as Tommy Connors.
Mr Connors, who was in his 40s, lost his life in the incident which occurred at a domestic property at around 4.15pm.
Gardaí confirmed that his body was removed to the morgue at Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place today.
Gardaí said enquiries are ongoing and the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.

A file will be prepared for the coroner, the spokesperson added.
Those shocked by his sudden passing have taken to social media to share tributes.
The Donegal Travellers Project extended their deepest sympathies to the Connors family.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time,” they said.
Letterkenny CDP also offered their condolences, joining in expressing their sympathies to the grieving family.
Funeral arrangements had not yet been announced at the time of going to print.
