A FAMILY is anxiously searching the townlands around Errigal after their treasured pet Oscar the dog went missing after a charity climb up the mountain last Thursday. Gael Bradbury, her 12-year-old son Rafe and Oscar the dog had been climbing the highest points in each county for charity.
On Thursday at around 5pm just as they reached the top of Errigal Oscar spotted a crow hopping from rock to rock and made a break for it, pulling Gael down who had to release him. He went straight down the mountain at speed and has not been seen by the family since.
Speaking to the Donegal News today Gael said they have been searching the area over the weekend and have been frantically sharing their post on social media. The family, who live in County Westmeath, also plan to return to the area tomorrow and have printed 100 posters in the hope of finding Oscar.

Gael said: “Everyone has been so supportive and helpful. We don’t know where he is hiding out. He is a big athletic dog and is very friendly. He is a cross between a golden retriever and an Irish red setter. We are hoping that someone has him that is not on social media and hasn’t seen the posts.”
Oscar was wearing a collar with his name, a red lead and he is microchipped. Anyone who has seen him is asked to contact Gael on 086-8257484.
