President Michael D Higgins will visit Letterkenny on Saturday.
Donegal County Council has issued some travel advise to motorists ahead of the event in An Grianan Theatre.
In order to facilitate the event, Port Road (Ramelton Road) will be closed from Station Roundabout (Tesco) Roundabout to the Courthouse junction from 11am to 2pm.
The theatre car park will not be accessible and on street car parking will be restricted from 4 Lanterns to the Wheelchair Association Shop until the road re-opens.
A number of alternative routes have been put in place:
Traffic approaching the Station Roundabout traveling to the Main Street Area should divert via Pearse Road and Justice Walsh Road.
Traffic approaching from Oldtown Road travelling to the Main Street Area should divert via Oliver Plunket Road or Justice Walsh Road.
Additional traffic management plans and diversions will be in operation throughout Letterkenny to facilitate safe access on the day.
