Traffic diversions after lorry comes off the road

DIVERSIONS are being put in place after a lorry came off the road this morning on the R-251 at Lossett, Gartan.
Donegal County Council has urged road users to avoid the area if possible.

“Due to weather conditions, a lorry is off the road on the R-251 at Lossett, please avoid this route if possible. Local Traffic Diversions will be put in place,” said a spokesperson.

There is currently a status yellow snow and ice warning for Donegal which will remain in place until 12pm on Sunday.

Met Éireann is warning of hazardous conditions with temperatures widely falling to minus four degrees.

“A sharp to severe frost with icy surfaces, as temperatures widely fall to – 4 degrees Celsius. Some freezing fog patches also,” they said.
