A FUNDRAISING Tractor Run will take place this Sunday with all proceeds going towards the Barney Gibbons’ Rehabilitation fund.
Barney, who recently underwent a leg amputation due to an illness, is now left with limited mobility.
Now at risk of a second amputation, Barney’s close friend, Robert Browne, organised the run.
Taking place on Sunday, December 17, tractor drivers have been asked to register at the office of McGettigan Travel, Dromore, Letterkenny from 12pm onwards.
The registration fee is €20 per tractor and the run will begin from there at 2pm.
From there, tractors will travel through the Polestar Roundabout, past the Mount Errigal Hotel, up the Mountain Top and into Kilmacrennan before finishing up in Ramelton.
With the run coming to an end at the Lennon Lodge in Ramelton, an evening of entertainment and refreshments continues.
Speaking to the Donegal News ahead of the Tractor Run, Annamarie Brogan said the event is lifting Barney’s spirits.
“He is looking forward to it.
“He hopes to be there himself if he is in good enough form,” she said.
