Tory Island photo exhibition heads to the mainland

A fascinating exhibition which documents life on Tory Island is moving to Gaoth Dobhair this week.

‘Looking Back, Tory Island’ by Eric Luke has been displayed the island’s Community Centre since July. However from November 2nd its new home will be An Gailearaí in Gaoth Dobhair.

The exhibition will open on November 2nd at 8pm and run until December 13th.

It will be open to the public and feature performances from Tory Island Musicians.

Eric Luke is a renowned figure in photojournalism with forty years experience under his belt. Having covered two World Cups, five Olympic Games, and stories from all over the world it might be surprising to some that his main focus lies at home in Ireland.

Luke’s accolades include the World Press Photo News Award and PPAI Photographer of the Year, but ‘Looking Back, Tory Island’ might be the most heartfelt to date
