CRITICALLY acclaimed chart topping singer, songwriter and musician Carrie Rodriguez pays a visit to Ballybofey on Saturday, November 15.

Carrie’s musical journey began literally almost from birth thanks to her father – seasoned songwriting veteran David Rodriguez.
Family friends also include Lyle Lovett, who invited Rodriguez to sit in with his band when she was at college, helping her develop as a performer.

Her professional career was launched in 2001 after a show at South By Southwest she was introduced to Chip Taylor (famed songwriter of ‘Wild Thing’) with whom she went on to record four full albums and an EP.

Her evolution from teenage violin student to touring the world with the likes of Taylor, Lucinda Williams and Alejandro Escoved has resulted in a prodigious output of recordings – eight albums in as many years – her latest being this year’s release of “Live at the Cactus”.

Her last studio album Give Me All You Got, released in February 2013, was immediately acclaimed as her finest work to date with Uncut calling it ‘a triumph’. Unsurprisingly it flew to the top of the US Americana chart.

The authentic, intimate, Carrie Rodriguez experience is still best found back where she started – live and on the road. Joining her on stage at the Balor Arts Centre on pedal steel, electric and acoustic guitar and vocals will be Luke Jacobs. Show starts 8.30pm. Call Tel 07491 31840.
