- Recycling
In your recycling bin at home, you can put all paper & cardboard including wrapping paper, Christmas cards, food tins & drinks cans and all plastic packaging including soft plastics – please make sure all recycling is clean dry and loose. For more information on what goes into your Recycling Bin check out the A – Z on mywaste.ie.
Recycling Centres:
You can recycle a wide range of materials at the County’s 6 Recycling Centres located at: Letterkenny, Milford, Stranorlar, Carndonagh, Laghey and Dungloe managed by Bryson Recycling. A wide range of items are collected for recycling free of charge and there are items where a charge applies. Electrical Waste:
Electrical Waste can be recycled for free. Use the free e-waste take-back programme to recycle your old and broken electrical appliances. Glass and Can Recycling:
There are 70 locations throughout Donegal where you can recycle your glass and cans. This is a time of year when these services are at their busiest. Extra servicing will be in place where necessary over the Christmas and New Year period. If banks are full, please come back at another time and do not leave materials at the banks, this is illegal dumping, and you could get a €150 fine.
Recycle your Real Christmas Tree in January:
In the New Year when the decorations are coming down don’t forget to recycle your ‘real’ Christmas trees for free at one of the 16 collection points across the Donegal. This service will be operating from Friday 6th January until Saturday 28th January. For a list of locations visit https://www.donegalcoco.ie/services/environment/christmas/christmastreerecycling/
