A cast of 20 local amateur performers, including students from local schools, will be in chorus and the show includes a ‘can can’ performance.

Interestingly, Ann Jennings, Artistic Director NWO, has managed to get a cultural exchange, sanctioned by the Egyptian Ministry for Culture which allows three members of the Cairo State Opera Orchestra join the show.

With it’s can-can dancers and memorable music, Lehar’s The Merry Widow is one of Europe’s all-time favourite shows.

Let NWO take you on a magical musical journey through the romantic streets of Paris where the instantly recognisable music sets the scene for the comedy script to unfold.

Often called “The Queen of Operettas” The Merry Widow is the most celebrated and successful show of it’s kind ever written.

It’s melodies and songs – ‘Vilja’, ‘The Merry Widow Waltz’ and ‘You’ll Find Me At Maxim’s’ are known and played the whole world over.

With professional singers from Germany, Ireland and America, NWO returns for a fifth consecutive year.
