THERE are still tickets lefts left for the North West Cancer Group’s Bling Ball at An Chuirt Hotel, Gweedore on Saturday, September 28.The North West Cancer Group provides an invaluable service to the west of the county by raising funds to subsidise flights from Donegal International Airport for cancer patients and those accompanying them to appointments in Dublin.
The cancer group’s Bling Ball was first run 15 years ago and ran successfully for seven years, before it took a break for six years.
Last year Mary McGinley of North West Cancer Group decided to revive the ball for a two-year stint to provide the group with a much-needed boost.
While this is the final Bling Ball for the time-being, the groups is going to seek other avenues to raise funds for this service availed of by so many people.
“Organising a ball is a very big task, so we said we would run it for two years and take a break again; there are many other ways we want to try and raise funds.
“If there is anyone out there that would like to assist us or even host a fundraiser, we would be so delighted to hear from them,” said Mary.
Music at the Bling Ball will be provided family trio Crystal Swing who shot to international fame two years ago with performances on the Late Late Show and the Ellen show in LA.
Tickets for the dinner and dance are €50 which goes towards providing a cancer patient, and anyone accompanying them, with a subsidised, comfortable trip on the plan on what is never an easy journey to Dublin. The Bling Ball begins at 8pm.
If you would like to purchase tickets or even contact Mary McGinley about hosting a fundraiser for the North West Cancer Group you can do so on Mobile 086 809 8009.
