THIS winter sees the welcome return of Donegal Skates after 15 years.
Located at Kiltoy Roundabout, the ice skating experience is open to everyone.
On the opening weekend, ice skate goers were treated to a price of €12.95 for tickets. The full price is now €18, which is incredible value for such a fun night out. Tickets can be purchased on their website.
This experience is so much fun and it is a great way to spend a cold and chilly afternoon. The skating session lasts 40 minutes. If you’re not a confident skater, don’t worry as there are experienced skaters on site ready to help and guide you. For younger kids who may struggle, there are fun balance items such as penguins to help keep away any accidents on the ice.
Adding to the sparkle is the festive Christmas lights at Donegal Skates.
If you feel disappointed when your skating session ends, don’t worry because you can check out the amusements, look at the Christmas stalls or get some delicious hot food.
You can also explore the Letterkenny Christmas Markets 2025, which is running alongside Donegal Skates real ice rink and the Christmas Carnival / Funfair, which are all on one central site in Letterkenny now until January 4 2026 daily (except Christmas).
