THREE of Donegal’s six TDs claimed more than €50,000 in expenses in the period from their election in February 2011 to the end of the year, it emerged yesterday (Thursday).
Sinn Féin Deputy Pearse Doherty claimed the highest of the county’s three deputies at €51,808. Fianna Fail Deputy Charlie McConalogue claimed €50,759 while Sinn Féin Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn claimed €50,725.
More than €6 million in expenses was paid to 165 of the 166 TDs with more than 30 sitting deputies claiming over €50,000 between February 2011 and the end of the year.
