THREE people have died in a two-car crash outside Letterkenny in the early hours of this morning, Thursday.
Two men and one woman lost their lives in the collision just after 1am this morning on a local road at Corravaddy, Drumkeen.
One man suffered serious injuries and is receiving treatment at Letterkenny University Hospital.
At approximately 1am this morning two cars were involved in a collision in an area known as Corravaddy approximately four miles from Letterkenny.
The scene is currently closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the scene and the local coroner has been notified.

It is the second multi-fatality road traffic accident in the county inside twenty four hours.
Two men in their late teens and early twenties, named locally as Barney McGinley and Dermot Boyle, died in the head on collision when their grey Mitsubishi Charisma car – which was travelling on the wrong side of the road – struck a yellow Renault Master van on the inbound lane of the dual carriageway at Trimragh shortly before 5am on Wednesday morning.
The Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission has confirmed that it is carrying out an investigation following reports of Garda interaction in the case of one of the vehicles involved in yesterday morning’s fatal collision on the dual carriageway outside Letterkenny.
A statement from the Garda Ombudsman has said that they are investigating reports of Garda involvement in the incident.
Investigations are continuing and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
