THREE Derry men charged in relation to the robbery of Manorcunningham Post Office last October have been sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
Books of evidence were served on Noel Lavy, David Knight and Joseph McMullan at this morning’s sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
All three men have been in custody since their apprehension shortly after the incident.
There were no bail applications made for Lavy and Knight while there was an objection to McMullan’s application for bail.
Solicitor, Mr Frank Dorrian said his client would comply with any bail conditions. He said it was not unusual for someone from Northern Ireland to sign on at a border town garda station.
Judge Paul Kelly refused bail on the basis of the accused living outside the jurisdiction, his ability to travel and the seriousness of the charges.
Giving the accused their alibi warnings Judge Paul Kelly sent all three men forward for trial to the Letterkenny Circuit Court sitting commencing on April 28.
