THERE was no glory for the Boyle family in this year’s Donegal International Rally but it was still good going to have three members finish the prestigious event.
Michael Boyle competed in the Donegal Rally for a fourth time and says you get to grips with the classics the more often you take them on.
His main issues were found on the Friday up around Donegal Town but he fought back on the Saturday and Sunday to finish 21st overall alongside his co-driver, Dermot McCafferty in their VW Polo.
“We had a good weekend overall,” said the Lettermacaward man.
“We didn’t get off to the best start. We had issues with the turbo actuator heading for the first tyre change.
“So we had to do the opening loop on limp mode which was fifty miles an hour at the max.”
