DONEGAL South West TD Thomas Pringle has been elected as the leader of the Independent group in Dáil Eireann. Deputy Pringle, a former county councillor from Killybegs, will assume the role after the Easter recess on April 18.
In the past few months he has been one of the key members of the technical group and is a founding member of the ‘Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay’ campaign.
The group of 16 comprises of Independent and United Left Alliance TD’s and has been a strong force in the Dáil. Deputy Pringle said he would be a vocal leader of the group.
