Third successive defeat for Finn Harps against bottom club Athlone Town

Finn Harps 0 Athlone Town 2

Finn Harps suffered a third successive defeat as bottom club Athlone Town came away with the three points in Finn Park.

It was another nightmare start for the Harps and a bit of déjà vu as they conceded early, Ben Feeney heading home from Kailin Barlow’s cross.

The Harps had a huge chance when Gavin Hodgins blasted over from six yards and Josh Cullen had a header saved by Matthew Connor as Athlone led at the break.

Gradi Lomboto and Tony McNamee had half chances as Hodgins had an effort come off the post as the Harps looked to level

But when Lomboto had an effort blocked, Athlone countered through Declan McDaid and when the ball went over to the far side, Gideon Tetteh finished low into the bottom left corner for a second shot on target and second goal.
