THE PSNI detained two men in Strabane on Thursday night following a knife-point robbery just outside Lifford. The third robbery in the area in the past week.
A man, armed with a knife entered Gallagher’s Fuel Depot at Rossgier at around 7.30 pm on Thursday night and threatened a young male member of staff.
The robber then made off, on foot, with a small amount of money and is believed to have then got into a car before heading across the border.
No one was injured and the PSNI arrested two men shortly after they crossed the border.
Gardai have appealed for anyone who saw anything in the Rossgier area between 7 pm and 8 pm on Thursday night to get in touch with them at 074 9161700.
Thursday night’s robbery was the third – Daly’s Filling Station in Lifford was robbed at knife-point on Tuesday evening and an assault and robbery at the home of the elderly Arthur sisters near Raphoe on Monday afternoon.
