It promised to be a very interesting season for the Donegal contingent on the cast as popular character John Joe (Niall Mac Eachmharcaigh) has a new woman in his life which doesn’t please Katy (Bridín Ní Mhaoldomhnaigh), who makes her big return to the village.

John Joe starts off the season feeling quite low at the loss of his wayward daughter Katy and has the added pressure of a trouble-making new woman.

The new woman tries to lodge in his home, but things take an unexpected turn when he starts to develop feelings for her.

Meanwhile, Katy makes her return to Ros na Rún and isn’t at all happy to find John Joe is falling in love, so what will she do, who will John Joe choose and has Katy finally met her match in this new woman?
