Theft and public order offences down ‘significantly’

THERE has been a significant decrease in theft and public order offences in the Donegal Garda Division according to the most recent crime figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The newest release of crime-related data from the CSO shows recorded crime offences for the Donegal Garda Division during the months of July, August and September, 2012. And, overall, they show a decrease across the majority of offences.

For the third quarter of 2012, theft and related offences had decreased by almost 40 per cent from 358 offences to 222. Other thefts and the handling of stolen property decreased by almost 50 per cent, from 242 to 128.
