THE Butt Drama Circle presents its latest production that will transport the audience back to the Wild West through a lot of whacky comedy, drama, song, romance and fun! With a huge cast of around 31 more or less, less or more (to quote the Judge).
Deadwood Dick involves lots of famous names, long lost daughters, stolen gold mines, kidnapped heroines and hairsbreath escapes.
With a cast of big characters and local faces it promises to provide lots of laughs and pure enjoyment. The action in this hilarious comedy takes place in Calamity Jane’s Mantrap Saloon, in the mining town of Deadwood Gulch.
The play centres around the conniving villain Black’n Red and the attempts of our two heroes Ned Harris and Wild Bill Hickock to thwart him.
No melodrama would be complete without our two ladies in distress Rose and Lily Blossom and a femme fatale … La Paloma. Kidnapping and secret escapes, gunfights and lynching.
Back on stage are Paddy McMenamin in romantic mood again, getting it wrong again. Sean Byrne as Wild Bill, Ken Lillis as Judge Nix, Kathleen Brown as Calamity Jane, Brenda Lucas as the tantalising La Paloma, Kathleen McGowan as Molly Lovless, Aoife Boyce as Lily, the blind long lost daughter along with her new husband Eddie Flanagan as the baddie Black n’ Red, Brian Duffy as Piano Anne, Gordon Lucas as Chet the Barman, John Dory (Duffy) as Pong Ping the Chinaman, Laura Friel as Rose, the kidnapped heroine, Seamus McCrudden as the Sheriff, Mary Laverty, Mary Sweeney and Anita Shovlin as Tessie’s Teetollars, the cowboys are Cathal Patton, Liam Breen, Jim McGowan, Fr. Kieran Harkin, Tony Carr, Brian Doherty, the Saloon Girls are Bridie Faulkner, Karen O’Meara, Josephine Stewart, Lisa Finn, Milea Leone, Mary Frances McCafferty ,a great cast for Comedy.
