The poor condition of Letterkenny’s roads to dominate meeting

THE poor condition of Letterkenny’s roads and the number of potholes in the town is set to come under scrutiny.

A number of motions are expected to be tabled by councillors at Tuesday’s Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District meeting.

Cllr Donal Coyle is to implore the council to hold an emergency workshop to expedite the carrying out of essential minor roadworks, such as the filling of potholes, drainage, erection of signage, and the removal of overhanging branches.

Elsewhere, Cllr Gerry McMonagle is set to urge for works to Rockhill Road.

He is to ask that necessary road repairs on Rockhill Road be carried out, as the area has been badly cut up due to weather and ongoing construction work in the area, with potholes posing a danger to road users.

Separately, Cllr Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly is to ask the council to carry out drainage works, and also road maintenance works on the Crieve to Rockhill Road as a matter of urgency.

The Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District meeting takes place in Milford Public Services Centre on Tuesday at 2pm.
