Bold Bright and Beautiful
Primary colours and vibrant oranges sit alongside summer’s usual nail trends of neon brights for our Summer of 2014. You can choose either and stay on trend this season, go bold now and add a splash of colour to your fingertips. I loved bright blue nails and the bold canary yellows. If these brights are too bright go for a muted pasted in our next section or jump paint your toes with a neon tone.
Our pick: Maybelline New York Color Show in Cool Blue for subtle or Superpower Blue for a statement.

Nude and Matte Pastels
Forget dodgy powder blue and My Little Pony, pastels have become all grown up this season and they come in an enticing and more muted neutral shades. Nails Inc. Has recently launched its In The Nude collection which includes the existing mink pink and pale blue shades plus a new rich nude and soft pastel grey. The ultimate colour in this collection is a mink with a hint of pink and nude. Perfect for a subtle nail indulgence over the summer nights.
Our pick: Nails Inc. In The Nude collection, Essie Under Where, a pastel orchid.

Au Naturel
Building on the looks of last season, natural nails are definitely staying around for this year. Thes nails are not just boring, these are luxe, groomed nails that epitomize understated nail elegance.
Wear them easily by maintaining a short shape and apply a subtle nude shade after a conditioning prep coat. This about the natural french polish colour wit a hint of flesh tone through it.
If this trend is a tad too safe for you, add some glitter or foil; clean nails are key, but shimmer is having its own life and its new persona is chic, not tacky
This is not actually au natural but fauz naturel!
Our pick: Condition your nails with L’Oreal Paris Color Riche La Manicure 7 in 1 Saviour, Gelish in pink all over your nail.

Deep, Dark and Dramatic
If you think dark nails are only for winter then it is time for a change and if you have only just got into your winter stride don’t worry, the trend for dark digits continues. Blacks always work, but shake it up with some forest greens, rich blues and midnight blacks are “the perfect companion to the clean palette of white fabrics that dominated the catwalks.
Keep them chip-free and they look sophisticated whatever the weather.
Our pick: L’Oreal Paris Color Riche in Black Swan or MAC Nocturnelle Nail Lacquer for black-as-night nails, Essie After School Boy Blazer for navy.

Nail Art, Glitter, Sparkle and effects
Whether you like it or not, nail art is here to stay but this year it’s chic and easy. Decorate your nails with silver and charcoal crystals to capture the light, add actual glitter to embrace the glitzy side while catching the light at the very base of your nails and cover with a top coat to keep it all there! If you are a bit terrified of this or if you simply just do not have the time for such intricate artistry, use one of the new party glitter topcoats on the market, or apply a glitter polish under a matte topcoat. If you want to keep it focused just pop your glitter on the ring finger for impact!
Our pick: Nail Inc’s Floral topcoats with petal particles and Garden Party polishes of metallic glitters.
