The death of Joe Kelly, Letterkenny and China

THE sudden passing of Letterkenny man Joe Kelly in China over the weekend has been learned of with great sadness.

Joe (55), who is originally from Glencar, is married to Derry woman Una and the couple have two boys, Aidan and Eunan.

A Media Studies graduate from the University of Ulster, he worked as a journalist in London for a number of years before moving into corporate communications for some of the world’s best known technology companies such as Xerox and BT.

He moved to China in 2012, rising to the position of VP of corporate affairs for Huawei, one of the world’s largest telecoms and IT companies.

A regular visitor home, Joe had plans to build in Donegal.

Funeral details have yet to be finalised. He is survived by his parents, Frank and Ann, his twin brother Michael (Boston), sisters Eileen Donnelly (California) and Breid Kelly-McCollum (Letterkenny) and his younger brothers Francis (Belfast) and Conal (Letterkenny).
