The Crash Cabaret returns this weekend

MAKING a very welcome return with the good weather, the Crash Cabaret is back at An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny, on Friday night with a fantastic line-up.

Beginning the new season join the cabaret’s MC, writer and filmmaker Derek O’Connor, as he unleashes another tsunami of top class entertainment for your delectation.

Topping the bill this time out is Zimbabwean Gaeilgeoir, musician and seán-nós dance sensation Tura Arutura who is a regular visitor to West Donegal and the monthly Irish language promotion event, the Cabaret Craiceailte at Tigh Huidaí Beag in bunbeg.

Making a welcome return to Donegal, but this time on his own, is Shane Langan of internet and stage senations Diet of Worms.

The writer, actor and comedian last performed in Donegal with the Worms at the Donegal News Charity Comedy Gala at the Balor Arts Centre in 2008, where the group brought the house down with their hilarious sketches.

Since then Shane has continued his work with the Worms, appearing at the Edinburgh and Dublin Fringe festivals, and also branched out into a solo career.

He regularly hosts nights on the Dublin comedy circuit in and also writes solo shows which he has also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, including his show ‘Not only, But Also’.

Closer to home, local burlesque star Miss Jet makes her An Grianán debut, and welcoming old friends back to the Crash Cabaret – homecoming hero Maximum Homosapien can always be relied upon to do something strange and beautiful.

Rounding out the bill is young songwriter Emily Whelan from Ardara and a video message from the always entertaining Narty Station.

The show begins at 9pm and admission is only €5. Further Crash Cabaret instalments will follow in April and May.
