FINNBARR Roarty beamed with delight after he picked up his first Ulster Senior Football Championship medal on Saturday.
The 19-year-old played the full ninety minutes and gave his typical full action display.
He said he didn’t have the perfect night’s sleep on Friday but there were no signs of any nerves.
“It’s crazy. The best feeling ever,” said the Naomh Conaill man after the match.
“I’m still just in disbelief.
“I don’t think it has hit in yet.”
Armagh brought a huge press in the closing seconds as Donegal played keep ball.
They were going backwards and Roarty and Stephen McMenamin found themselves in a tricky spot but managed to work the ball over to the far side of the field where Daire Ó Baoill kicked it out of play.
“We were having a good laugh in there (in the dressing rooms), we were saying the two worst men to have on the ball, and the boys were preparing for the two-pointer.
“Somehow… I don’t know how… we got out of there anyway.
“It was just savage.”
