Termon Drama Group has been busy rehearsing for their annual fundraising play in Kilmacrennan Community Hall, which is starting this weekend.
The play will be performed on Saturday and Sunday, February 18 and 19, and then there will be two fundraising nights on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 of the month.
The Air Ambulance will receive the funds raised during their special charity show on February 25, in appreciation of their response to the recent tragedy in Creeslough.
A former Emergency Department Consultant at Letterkenny University Hospital, Gerry Lane runs the voluntary Critical Care Rapid Response service.
All proceeds from the show on Sunday, February 26 go to toward the Kilmacrennan Community Hall.
Madeline McDaid one of the founding members told the Donegal News that every year they choose a local cause to fundraise for.
Previous recipients are the No Barriers Foundation who utilise a robotic exoskeleton to help people with paralysis and the community defibrillator in Carrigart.
The play titled “I’m The One For You” by Jimmy Keary, promises to be a great night out. The play follows the tale of a complex love triangle filled with drama, devious antics, and lots of laughs.
“Everybody needs a laugh and if we can make everyone switch off and have a laugh for two hours, then that’s job done,” said Madeline.
“Our audiences have been great, it’s 95 per cent repeat audiences every year, this shows that in rural communities there is an appetite for it.
“We are made up of people that mostly wouldn’t have known each other until the drama group set up, and now we’re great friends,” she added.
The group is made up of Annette Sheridan, Deirdre Gallagher, Tracey McGrenra, Caroline Dorrian, Henry Gallagher, John Doherty, Stephen Ferry and Gerry McTaggart.
Backstage are Ann Marie Gallagher, Bernadette Gallagher, Stevie Sheridan, Lisa McCafferty and Aisling McGeever.
